Episode 4: Pork Ribs

It has been some months since I have had a chance to sit down and edit a video together for my blog that I have neglected. For those who do not know me personally, I had a boy child born on November of 2009. My time is overwhelmingly consumed by work, and my kid. I vowed to get more videos out even if it kills me...let's hope it doesn't.

Many people have been asking when I was going to be doing a "How To" on pork ribs. Well the answer is...now. I actually filmed all this footage August 2009, and after a few sleepless nights, I finally cut the video.

I have been cooking ribs in a smoker for over 7 years. My first smoker I made was inspired by Alton Browns terracotta smoker. This contraption cost a few dollars, but it was perfect for starting out. I lived in an appartment when I first made it and it was perfect for our very small patio. Once I moved into a house, I totally needed to upgrade to a full size offset smoker. I often miss those days of consistent heat coming from the heat coils of my hot plate, not enough of course for me to go out and buy a electric or propane smoker...yet. If it was not for Alton Brown, I would not be here writing this blog.

This summer, I am planning on doing numerous recipes from BBQ books I love, and show you how delicious food can be, with a touch of smoke.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the show!

Have a great time BBQ'n!

Dave
