Well I gave it a shot and it was excellent! I'm surprised by how well the BBQ flavor came out. Very tasty. I omitted the peppers because that would be too spicy for my kids, but fortunately the Pepper Jack cheese still gave it a nice kick. Good stuff! Thanks for that Dave!

Hey, that's a good guide. I recently used some wood from my woodpile to smoke a tritip. My woodpile includes wood that I pick up while taking the dog for a run up in the hills. I succeeded in making my tritip taste like brushfire! So yeah, I can use your guide. Thanks!

Not too long ago, I was standing in line at a Ralphs grocery store. I was looking at their selection of charcoal and bbq things under their front window, and I saw bags and bags of Jack Daniel's Wood Chips!

So if you are having a hard time finding them, I saw them at Ralphs in Stevenson Ranch. Good Luck!

I recently went to BBQ's Galore.
They no longer carry the Jack Daniels Brand of Wood Chips.
I did some hunting around online...and so far the cheapest I can find it with shipping etc...was from Jack Daniels themselves.
Do give them a try. There might be a grocery store around town that may carry it. Ask them to order it if they can.

Hello JMILLS!

Normally I can find the Jack Daniels wood chips at BBQ's Galore. They can be hit and miss with their stock so I always call first. When I do find them there, I always grab a few bags. I have on occasion found them at Target(During seasonal times) and Ralphs. If all else fails, there is always the Jack Daniel's site, but shipping charges can be pricey.

I tried it a couple of times now. Taco was a choke, but the tri-tip plate was pretty good. Tastes Santa Maria-esque, but it looks like they just use the charro chicken grills, maybe along with oven roasting, no wood as far as I could see (or taste). Either way, i wish them luck.

Thank you for the kind comments, they are appreciated. I am going to check out your Tri-Tip "How-To" as soon as I get home tonight. Glad to see a Weber in the photos! CHARCOAL RULES!

Not sure if they use wood. The owner has been preoccupied with getting things to run smooth. He is one great guy. As soon as things calm down, I'll be asking him more questions. It looks like he is using the equipment from the business prior. It used to be a "Charo-Chicken(Just like an El Pollo Loco.)" Restaurant.

I'll give Yelp a look see.

I will be posting more videos this spring! Hope you check them out!
